The On-line Google Internetatorship

Swap it! Encrypt it!

Like the rest of you I have used and loved Google's cutting edge search engine service for many years; however as I've grown older I've become more reliant on the Google search engine and the free search engine related products it offers. Now as a small business owner (Swap it! Encrypt it!) I've come to realization that Google and some of the ways they chose to operate are not as great as I once thought. In fact, I've come to the realization that human beings of the computer/internet age live in a Google Internetatorship.

Why is Google the internet dictator; because, they have assumed almost sole and absolute control (power) over internet searches and how those processes are conducted (even though Google is not a "monopoly" ). Google knows they are the dominate global search engine yet they continue to choose to deal with people and the small businesses that use their system (service) with out regard and in some cases in unfair ways. Has Google been "blinded by the light" ?, or are the people at Google doing the best they can to "serve" the unique needs of any and all parties that REQUIRE their search engine service?

Here are Some Examples of Google's Malice

In the end the decision as to what search engines will best suit and serve your needs is up to you; however, I hope that will take what I have said here into consideration. As for Google I hold no ill wishes against them or their company; however, this blog should act as a wake up call for them! They need to see the importance of implementing fairer practices when making changes to how their search engine system works.

Interesting stuff! Google has certainly grown to be a dominant force on the Internet.

I don't think the examples you give really show malice on Google's part, although they do show that Google's sheer size can make it difficult for them to really engage with "the little guy" sometimes.

What fairer practices would you like to see them implement?

First of all thank you for the comment. Second of all I checked my words before I used them and I believe that I am right and that the bigger Google gets the more they tend to "be in the state of mind in which their acts have caused others pain and suffering (whether or not they meant to do wrong)". Google's actions especially of late are leading to the down fall of small business on line as well they are taking choice away from searchers that use their system.

I think as a rule Google needs to realize that how it operates and how it chooses to operate effects everyone (quite literally) because we are all forced to use what Google has created (the search algorhythm) either through Google or the many other search engines that are powder by it's service.

How would I make Google better? Simple, fairer practices such as being aware of the impact their service makes on people and small business. That means taking more time to research and understand the effect that these great ideas Google implements has on the end user. That way they can stop bad Ideas like "customized search" before they happen (I get the feeling that Google doesn't care much about what the people who use it think though).

welcome to searchwarp sir. You make some very good points. Unfortunately, this is yet another example of the "golden rule"--he who has the gold makes the rules. Large corporations have much more influence, than lonely blogges...

Well first off, thank you for your kind words, but second of all I need to be clear that by no means do I think that just blogging about issues such as this issue I have with Google is anything more then a first step. I'm working on a possible class action law suit. I'm a business man, and what they (Google) have done is taken an advantage (a free market) away from me and many small business owners like myself. It goes beyond unfair, and if Google is allowed to keep the changes they've made and human society continues to conduct it's business more and more in the on-line world it can only lead to one eventual end....the end of the free market as we know it today.
